This is NOT a set of courses on 'how to do well in inspection'. Rather they provide an opportunity to unpick and interpret some of the latest Ofsted terminology, with a view to ensuring that excellent early years practice remains, and changes are only made that are genuinely needed and impact positively for children. The focus throughout is on enabling delegates to develop or reaffirm a vision of ‘quality education’ for their children.

  • Explore the concept of curriculum within the early years, through the lens of the Ofsted terms “Intent, ‘Implementation’ and ‘Impact’.

  • Consider the interplay between content and pedagogical knowledge and why both are equally important for adults working in the EYFS.

  • Hear science of learning insights and consider how these are already being applied in excellent, child-centred early years settings and classrooms.

  • Re-evaluate what your setting or school already provides, curriculum wise for early years children and consider any elements you wish to develop further.

  • Leave feeling ready to start leading conversations about curriculum content and pedagogy back at your school or setting.
