This in-depth course is aimed at educators at all levels wishing to further develop their understanding of excellent EYFS practice.

 

The sessions are especially suited to teaching assistants and those new to the age range.

 

The course will focus on the key elements that lead to high quality early years practice, with a particular emphasis on improving child-initiated learning. Each session will include a gap task which will be reflected upon in the following session.

Session 1) The role of relationships: understanding children's behaviour & supporting their personal development by prioritising connection and self-regulation.

Session 2) The role of the adult in child-initated learning: exploring high quality observation and teaching in play and practical experiences.

Kettering: Wednesday 4th December 2019  1-4pm

London:    Monday 2nd December 2019  1-4 pm

Session 3) The role of the environment: providing engaging and challenging learning opportunities indoors and out.

Kettering: Thursday 16th January 2020  1-4pm 

London:    Monday 10th February 2020  1-4 pm

 

Session 4) The role of play and practical experience in children's mathematical and literacy learning: developing both content and pedagogical knowledge that will impact positively on children's outcomes in these two areas of learning and development.

Kettering: Tuesday 31st March 2020      1-4pm 

London:    Monday 30th March 2020      1-4 pm
