Outstanding Teaching
Outstanding Learning
What every senior leader needs to know about improving quality and outcomes in the early years
Headteachers often report that the EYFS seems like a ‘secret garden’ to them and that they feel lacking in the expertise and experience needed to identify clear next steps for improvement in this phase.
Conversely, EYFS leaders often have a good understanding of practice but are not always used to formally monitoring teaching and learning and developing improvement plans.
In this session I will address both of these issues, by exploring the key elements that make for outstanding teaching, learning, assessment and outcomes in the early years. I will share many visual examples of outstanding practice from real early years classrooms and there will be a heavy emphasis on the key elements to consider when observing practice in the EYFS.
This course would also be useful for Nursery managers and EYs practitioners wishing to develop outstanding practice.
Target audience: headteachers, EYFS leaders, senior leaders, nursery and reception teachers, education consultants.
