International Schools

I work with international schools to develop early years practice that is clear, consistent and workable across different curricula and cultures. I support leaders and teams in IB PYP, IPC and British contexts, as well as bilingual and bespoke frameworks. Delivery can be in person, online or a hybrid model across time zones.

How I support international teams

Whole-school consultancy visits

Multi-day visits that combine learning walks, classroom coaching, leadership clinics and planning time. We agree priorities in advance, then work alongside your team to make practical changes that fit your setting. Follow-up sessions online keep momentum.

Leadership development

Focused time with EY and primary leaders on vision, scope and sequence, team roles, monitoring that supports staff, and clear ways to talk about intent, implementation and impact across your chosen framework.

Curriculum alignment across EY and into KS1

Clarity on what children learn, how depth develops, and how play and direct teaching work together. We align your curriculum map with assessment and day-to-day practice, so staff know what to plan for and why.

Environment and provision design

Support to shape indoor and outdoor spaces, continuous provision, enhancements and routines. We work with what you have, including resourcing constraints and local suppliers.

Communication, language and EAL

Approaches that build language through play, interaction and meaningful contexts. Practical strategies for mixed-proficiency groups and transitory cohorts.

Assessment and moderation

Simple, useful systems that reduce noise and help staff notice learning. Moderation processes that build shared judgement without unnecessary paperwork.

Parent and community sessions

Short, accessible sessions that explain play-based practice, how learning looks in early years, and how families can support it.

Keynotes and regional workshops

Conference inputs with optional in-school workshops before or after the event. Online delivery available across time zones.

What’s different in international contexts

  • Diverse curricula and inspection routes
  • Mixed language proficiency and mobility/turnover
  • Varied resourcing and space
  • Cultural expectations about play and adult roles

My role is to help you shape practice that respects these realities while keeping the focus on children’s learning.

Visit formats

  • Focused day — one priority with coaching and a short staff input
  • Two-day visit — learning walks, training and leadership clinic
  • Plan–do–review cycle — short series with online follow-up
  • Hybrid — in-person start, then remote coaching across the term

Before each visit we agree aims, timetable and who needs to be in the room. After each visit you receive a short summary and next steps.

On-demand CPD for international teams

The Place to Learn gives your staff unlimited access to short training films and webinars they can watch anywhere, at any time. It’s useful for induction, for follow-up after a visit, and for steady development across the year.
