I'm Kym Scott, early childhood consultant, conference speaker and trainer
I work nationally and internationally; providing consultancy, training, workshops and keynote speeches on a number of subjects related to early childhood education and care.
I'm especially passionate about the impact that quality relationships, interactions, environments and play experiences can have on children's learning and life chances.
These elements feature heavily in my online CPD site The Place To Learn, where my courses and webinars can be accessed on-demand by whole staff teams or individuals, for one annual fee.
John Green, Head of School, Rowdown Primary School, Croydon
"Beautifully created, highly professional, and provides a ton of information presented in a really captivating way. You have managed to achieve that tricky balance between creating sessions that inform and upskill both those at senior leadership level like myself, but also those working directly in the classroom. Fantastic value for money too!"
Is your early years team feeling a little at sea during these challenging times?
- Are you more convinced than ever that our youngest learners need a compassionate, play based teaching approach, but the current conditions are making that hard to deliver?
- Would staff benefit from the guidance of a trusted consultant who can help them provide superb learning for children through play, real experiences and quality interactions?
- Would you love to bring an established and highly experienced national early years expert in to deliver CPD to your whole team, but know that’s not possible right now?
- Would your staff jump at the chance of having unlimited access to an entire suite of early years courses that have been having impact in schools and nursery settings for years?
If any of the above ring true then THE PLACE TO LEARN might be just what you need.

About Me
I am an established conference speaker, trainer and consultant in the field of early years education. I've spent the last 20 years working in partnership with schools and settings in a variety of circumstances, both in the UK and overseas. and have a proven track record of helping leaders to raise the quality of their early years provision and improve outcomes for children.
As well as supporting at leadership level, I spend a significant proportion of my time working directly in classrooms and nurseries. This is key to ensuring that I retain a deep understanding of the reality and challenges of working with young children, and this work also provides me with numerous real examples to draw upon in my training.

Joanne Henson, Kirklees Learning Partner – Early Years, Kirklees Local Authority
"Kym produced some amazing online training materials for us. The quality of the training was fantastic, a brilliant balance of theory and practical ideas. The online version was just as effective as a face to face session but with added benefit of pausing the video for reflection and invaluable discussion with colleagues – something we rarely get to do! Already bursting with ideas and inspiration!”
Peter Lindley, Reception Teacher, Raintree International School, Bangkok
“The wonderful 'Place to Learn' site has been a brilliant platform to further enhance my early years professional knowledge. Carefully looking at different aspects of practice, it has allowed our early years team to learn, reflect and improve our provision. Learning alongside Kym, at our own pace, either in school or when isolating at home, has proven to be invaluable!"
Satveer Rathour, Teaching Assistant, Co-op Academy Oakwood, Leeds
“Loved the up to date videos, short seminars but throughly packed with vital information. Sessions are always engaging and fun - they always show the full potential of Kym's enthusiasm in them!"
