Learning Programme for 2025/26: Understanding and supporting child development

This exceptional value guided learning programme will take international early years teaching assistants deep into the heart of what truly shapes a child's learning and development.

Over ten engaging sessions throughout the 2025/26 academic year, participants will explore key areas of child development from birth to seven years, which I will bring to life using photos, and videos, while also drawing on participants’ own observations from their school settings.

Key Focus: Developing coaching strategies for leaders and aspiring leaders in play-based classrooms

Step away from day-to-day demands and into The Leadership Recharge, at a fully-staffed private tropical villa resort just 2 hrs from Bangkok. This immersive experience takes you from vision setting to practical coaching strategies. Guest speaker & international school leader Mark Verde will model live coaching sessions and share powerful tools for deep listening and feedback. Sarah Gaughan introduces a proven coaching blueprint developed at Patana School and a playbook created specifically for Early Years settings. Kym Scott brings her expertise in training leaders to ensure impact. 

Bangkok Conference

Primary consultant Jonny Allams joins me for this this three-day professional learning experience,  designed to help educators reimagine writing from the earliest marks in Nursery to purposeful, confident writing in Year 4. 

Friday 27th Feb - Sunday 1st March 2026 at Bangkok Patana School, Bangkok, Thailand

Focus: Developing independent writers: a progressive journey into writing from Early Years to Key Stage 2. Supporting children aged 3 - 9 years to build competence, confidence and creativity in writing 

Over the three days, we will share a model for a writing programme rooted in a developmentally appropriate and playful approach, which enhances, rather than  compromises curriculum expectations.

It will focus on embracing  writing as a powerful tool for thinking, communication and creativity rather than just a curriculum outcome.

Combining practical strategies with pedagogical clarity, this conference equips practitioners with everything they need to build a continuum of writing that begins with imagination and ends with real impact.

Shanghai Conference

A transformative three-day professional learning in association with the Wellington Festival of Education 

Friday 17^th - Sunday 19^th April 2026  Wellington College International School, Shanghai

Key Focus: Inspiring Young Writers in the EYs and Y1: Practical strategies to build a joyful, inclusive writing culture rooted in play, purpose, and developmentally appropriate practice

Set against the prestigious backdrop of the Wellington Festival of Education Shanghai, this unique wraparound event combines two immersive training days with Kym (Friday and Sunday) and full access to Saturday’s Festival programme, including two of Kym’s practical and inspiring workshops. Across the two training days, delegates will move from The Foundations of Writing - exploring early mark-making, motor development, and the power of talk - through to No More Reluctant Writers, a deep dive into curriculum design that fosters confidence, competence, and motivation in every child. With a particular emphasis on supporting children learning English as an additional language, the sessions explore how to make writing accessible, authentic, and meaningful for all.
