UK schools & settings
I work with early years teams to develop practice that is clear, consistent and doable. I support primary schools, nursery schools and MATs with consultancy, in-house CPD and conference inputs — in person or online. My aim is simple: better experiences for children, and a calmer, more confident team.

Consultancy
I partner with leaders to review current practice, agree priorities and plan realistic next steps. This can be a single focused day or a short “plan–do–review” package over a half-term. We look at the quality of education in EYFS — curriculum intent, implementation and impact — adult–child interactions, assessment, and the learning environment indoors and out.
Typical focuses
- Provision and environment: continuous provision, enhancements and challenge
- Interactions and assessment: noticing, responding, documenting
- Curriculum and progression: what children learn and how that learning deepens
- Leadership: roles, routines, moderation and monitoring against the EYFS requirements

Training days & CPD
I design practical sessions for whole staffs, EY teams or phase groups. Inputs are short, visual and rooted in real examples, with time to reflect and plan. We connect research, guidance and classroom reality, and keep the focus on what staff can use tomorrow. Where helpful, I link live inputs to on-demand modules in The Place to Learn so teams can revisit and sustain the work. Evidence-informed approaches to play and guided learning are built in.
Popular topics
- Play with purpose: depth, challenge and progression
- Communication and language; vocabulary in context
- Early writing and mark-making; reading foundations
- Self-regulation, relationships and routines
- Auditing provision and planning improvements

Keynotes & conference workshops
I speak at national and regional events and run follow-up workshops for deeper application. Talks are shaped around what makes a difference in EYFS: coherent curriculum, rich interactions and meaningful experiences, all within current inspection expectations. Online delivery is available.

On-demand professional learning
Alongside live work, I offer on-demand CPD through The Place to Learn — a growing library of short training films and webinars for whole teams or individuals. Members get unlimited access to 100+ hours of input, with reflection tasks, action planning, certificates and the option to learn together or at your own pace.
Why this approach
The EYFS is the statutory baseline for early years. My support helps teams meet its learning, assessment, and safeguarding requirements in ways that feel human and workable.
I also align with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework so leaders can talk clearly about intent, implementation and impact without turning practice into a performance.
Where play is central, I draw on evidence for guided and purposeful play, while being honest about what the evidence can and can’t claim.
