Everyone responsible for educating young children in the early years. My training is usually accessed by those working in schools and early years settings, at all levels.

The initial online courses are universally aimed at anyone who works to educate young children, particularly those working with the 3-5 year age range. Subsequent courses may be aimed at particular groups such as NQTs, teaching assistants etc.

Some courses will be also suitable for those working with under threes and also those wishing to bring a more playful approach into Key Stage One.

Absolutely - the sessions will work ideally being played as team CPD in staff meetings or as part of an INSET day. They are presented in my usual lively and engaging style, with a balance of photos and video footage to illustrate key points. They are made to be as interactive as possible with breaks throughout for tasks and reflection points.

Yes. It can be hard to get all staff together at the same time for training, so the courses have been designed to work just as well for individuals completing the sessions alone at a time convenient to them.

Yes, the modules are specially designed to be progressed through in order, with gap tasks at the end of each module.  They can also be dipped into on a more ad hoc basis.

My courses focus on various aspects of early years pedagogy and practice, with a blend of theory, research, real life examples and practical ideas. A feature of my training that delegates report as being especially  inspiring are the many photos I use to illustrate excellent practice from settings and schools I work in partnership with. These  feature throughout my online courses, as well as real video footage to highlight key points.

All of my courses focus on achieving a balance between great outcomes for children whilst retaining a playful, developmentally appropriate pedagogy.

They draw heavily upon my advisory work over the last 20 years, which has been with schools and settings in a vast range of circumstances, including many international schools. I have focused particularly on supporting children at risk of disadvantage, and my work is evidenced by consistent impact on outcomes in the schools I have supported.

A course consists of 3/4 modules, with 3-5 seminars in each module.

Each seminar includes approximately 10-20 minutes of tutorial time but is designed to take around 30 mins to complete, including tasks and reflections set throughout.

This means that each module takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to work through and a long course takes around 6 - 8 hours of study time plus gap tasks.

Absolutely. My training is based on developmentally appropriate and excellent practice for young children, regardless of the system you are working within.

Although I am based in England and will refer to the English system at times in her training, I am used to training those working within the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish system, and have worked in crown dependencies such as Guernsey, British overseas territories such as The Falkland Islands, as well as with international curriculums such as IPC and PYP.

Having provided consultancy support and training to many international schools across the world, I now specialise in understanding and supporting the very unique situations of this sector and my training often features examples from international schools and settings. 

My online courses will generally focus primarily on those working in group-based settings and schools. Some courses, such as those on interactions and behaviour will be very suitable for childminders. In the case of others, certain elements will be relevant, and other sections may need adapting to suit the unique situations of childminders. I have worked to support and train childminders and am very aware of the challenges this sector face and the fact that it can be extremely hard to access training as a childminder. Therefore I have committed to offer a special childminder rate of £150 plus VAT which is available as an individual membership.

There is  a 14 day cancellation period, whereby a setting or school can cancel their membership and receive a full refund as long as they put their request in writing within 14 days of signing up.

Yes, my ‘in-person’ work is limited due to family commitments, but with forward planning I am still able to carry out in person training, conferences and consultancy engagements.
