Consultancy with Impact

Looking to elevate your early years provision?

I provide expert consultancy support, partnering with schools and nurseries across the UK and internationally to deliver strategic clarity and practical guidance. My grounded, collaborative approach focuses on your team, your children, and your unique context – helping you create a truly effective learning environment

Strategic Support That Fits Your Setting

Strategic Consultancy

Fresh eyes on your current provision, clear evaluation, and bespoke guidance for meaningful development. I work with senior leaders and EYFS leads to assess practice, identify strengths and next steps, and develop a focused improvement plan.

Classroom Coaching & Mentoring

I spend time in classrooms, offering live coaching, modelling best practice, and supporting educators to embed high-quality play-based teaching that meets children where they are.

Leadership Support

Tailored coaching and mentoring for leaders at all levels. Whether you’re an experienced EYFS lead or new to early years leadership, I help you grow in clarity, confidence, and practical skill.

Bespoke In-House Training

I design and deliver bespoke training for whole staff teams, leaders, or groups of settings. Sessions can be delivered in person, via live webinar, or as pre-recorded content.

Quality Reviews

I can support a full review of your early years provision, including planning, assessment, environment, adult-child interactions, and leadership systems – helping you prepare for inspection or internal review with clarity and confidence.

Cluster Events & Partnership Working

I also work with schools and settings in clusters, helping to share the cost of training and support while building shared understanding across a group.

The

Plan, Do, Review

Package

3–5 Day Bespoke Consultancy Programme

For schools wanting deeper, more sustained support, this extended package has a strong track record of driving long-term improvement.

Over the course of 3–5 days (in-person or online),
I support your team through:

Day 1:

Time spent in school informally observing practice and provision, in order to ascertain the precise next steps for improvement and how best to support these. This is usually done in partnership with a senior leader such as the Head or EYFS leader, and a plan of action drawn up, as well as on the spot advice given and individual conversations had with staff if required.

Day 2:

This visit usually takes place within a few weeks of the initial visit and will often involve some kind of input for members of the the team, such as a training session, as well as working alongside the Early Years Lead to support the next stage of development.

Day 3:

Usually involves a review of the impact so far and an opportunity to agree next steps and best ways for achieving these. It generally works well if this takes place 8 - 12 weeks on from the initial visit, as this provides a good deadline for staff to work to.

Additional days
(where booked) may include:

Mentoring for EYFS Leads

In-class modelling and coaching

Staff training or planning support

Review of assessment and monitoring systems

Curriculum refinement

"We learnt so much from your visit - it was both inspiring and motivating. It has helped us to pinpoint key areas of development within the structure of the school and to focus on the essentials; how we can best create an environment for younger children which enables them to flourish and learn to their full potential. I also thank you on a personal note for giving me excellent guidance at a management level."

Ludovic Bernard

Head of Primary, International School Of Bearn, France

"Kym's Place to Learn sessions have been invaluable both for my own practice and for the support they have given me in my role as early years leader. The training has provoked many discussions and opportunities for us to reflect as a team, enabling us to question what we do, how we do it and why we do what we do. Kym's absolute passion for and knowledge about young children and how they learn, shines through at every level. The video clips are carefully chosen and are a wonderful and engaging way of bringing the training to life. I am eagerly awaiting the next module!"

About Kym

With over 35 years in early education, I’ve worked as a nanny, teacher, senior leader, local authority consultant, and strategic lead — supporting schools and settings across the UK and internationally.

I’ve spent much of my career working alongside educators in real settings, helping them reflect on practice, deepen their understanding, and feel more confident in their role. My approach is built on relationships and evidence, refined through years of working with early years educators in a wide range of contexts.

Whether I’m leading a consultancy day, delivering a keynote, or facilitating team training, I focus on what’s practical, doable, and genuinely effective. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. I listen closely, shape support around your needs, and work alongside your team to create change that lasts.
